Kollam as a major city of Kerala and its nearness to the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram, is well equipped with all amenities of effective communication and transportation. Jatayu Rock – This is a massive rock situated in the Chadaya Mangalam Village. It derives its name from the mythical bird Jatayu mentioned in the epic Ramayana. The place is ideal for trekking.

Palaruvi Waterfalls – The cascade of pristine waters falling from a height of 300 feet makes for a spectacular sight. The Palaruvi woods is a wonderful picnic spot. There are comfortable accommodations in the shape of the PWD Inspection Bungalow and the KTDC Motel.
